Does anyone know of any free download sites for audio books or ones in plain text format? I was thinking about downloading some ready for when I get my plextalk replaced. I can't send it off until tuesday anyway, but still ... I did try www.gutenberg.com, but every time I try searching for books, it just brings up loads of links rather the download pages.
www.whitestick.co.uk has a list of ebook and audio book sites.
Oh cool. I've been on that site loads of times, but never thought of looking there. I'll have a look at it later.
OK ... Well gutenberg wouldn't work because I typed gutenberg.com instead of .org. I found some good sites on the whitestick website though.
This is a rminder that posting links to download materials illegally are not allowed on the site. I've ready had to lete 1 post regarding such. I'd prefer not to have to deal with any more.
Um, to my knowledge this list is not illegal. They have listed free and not free sites, and I wouldn't have either referred someone if I thought they were illegal...
The list, if you actually took the time to look at it, is not illegal. It says somewhere near the top of all those websites "free and legal"or something along that line. De ...
Theese sites listed are not illegal and most people I know of who are blind and use downloadable books know about the Guttenberg project, which is free and legal. Please don't delete links unles you look at the site yourself first because as far as I know only the free download musics are questionable. Thoughthe one that is currently available in Europe will be available to the U.S. in early 2010 and it is legal and it's making Apple upset because they make people pay for songs and this new site won't. It's been all over the news.
The white stick site is not illegal either!
